Istiqama
Istiqama – Daily Habits (“Istiqama”, “we”, “the app”) is a private daily companion for worship and ordinary life. This policy describes how the app handles information on your device.

Information the app stores on your device
The app saves data locally using an on-device database and system preferences, including:
- To-do tasks and schedules you create
- Prayer check-ins and progress
- Quran reading progress and reading time logs
- Onboarding and routine preferences
- Appearance settings (theme mode and accent color)
- Saved latitude and longitude for prayer times (if you choose “Use my location”)
- Country or region code inferred from location (for regional prayer calculation defaults)
We do not upload this content to our servers because we do not operate backend user storage for the app.
Location
If you grant location permission, the app reads your device location to:
- Calculate prayer (adhan) times on your device
- Store coordinates locally for future calculations
- Optionally resolve a country code through your device’s reverse geocoding service (Apple or Google), which may send coordinates to the platform provider under their policies
Location is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. You can clear saved location in Settings or revoke permission in system Settings.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders on your device (for example, before prayer time). Reminders are not sent through our push notification servers. You can turn reminders off in Istiqama Settings and in your device’s notification settings.
What we do not collect
As of this policy version, the app does not include:
- User accounts or sign-in
- Third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
- Cloud backup of your worship or task data to our servers
Third-party content in the app
The app includes bundled Quran text, mushaf layout data, and fonts from third-party sources. Those materials are subject to their own licenses; we do not claim ownership of the Quran text. See open-source licenses in the app Settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Export: Settings → Data & privacy → Export my data
- Delete: Settings → Data & privacy → Delete all local data
- Location / notifications: Manage in Istiqama Settings and in iOS or Android system Settings
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide notice in the app or store listing.
